Why is it so important that we get out strife with ourselves? Because we cannot experience trouble-free relationships until we do. The kingdom of God is righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost (Roman 14:17). This kingdom principle contains a progression. If we desire joy, we must have peace, and to have peace we must have righteousness a functioning reality of righteousness, not just a confession of righteousness.
We can say we are the righteousness of God in Christ because the Word says that we are righteous (2 Corinthians 5:21). The more we say this truth, the stronger the reality of its grow in us.
In order to move on to real peace, our righteousness must be established as truth in our soul. We must know that we know that we know. Our righteousness must be so established in our hearts that the accuser of our brethren (Revelation 12:10) cannot steal it from us with his lies.
We must be so established in our righteousness through the blood of Christ that even looking at our flaws does not defeat us. Abraham did not weaken in faith when he considered the impotence of his own body, which was as good as dead because he was about a hundred years old, or when he considered the barrenness of Sarah’s deadened womb (Romans 4:19).
You and I don’t have to live in self rejection and self hatred any longer. We are righteous not because we never make a mistake, but because Jesus never made one. He is the perfect one, and because of our faith in Him, we can count ourselves as righteous, too. God does! So stop striving with yourself and move into that blessed peace that leads to trouble free relationships.
